GLAAD’s NYC staff LIKES that Schnipper’s Quality Kitchen is donating $1 from every purchase of a Schnipper’s Chicken Filet Sandwich to Marriage Equality USA! LIKE this if you’re skipping the Chick-fil-A sandwich in support of equality! http://glaad.org/chick-fil-a

Oh, hey.

LIKE this if you’re going to skip the sandwich today! Speak out against Chick-fil-A’s anti-LGBT stance by donating the price of a Chick-fil-A meal to GLAAD!

Violence Against Transgender People and People of Color is Disproportionately High, LGBTQH Murder Rate Peaks
The murder rate of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected (LGBTQH) is at its highest, according to a recently released 2011 report from the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP). The report also shows that transgender women, people of color, and youth and young adults are at a disproportionately high risk of being victims of what the NCAVP terms hate violence.

I don’t think I’ve ever honestly critiqued someone on the internet and actually put thought into it. This guy wrote a brilliant article here. Yet I still needed to critique his inclusion of theories on how gays are created, something most queer theorists, especially Eve Sedgwick, rejects. She argues for a more blissful ignorance in the thought of whether or not the nature/nurture processes create gay people. If you have the time and the energy, I suggest reading her essay “How To Bring Your Kids Up Gay”. It’s full of heavy academic jargon but the theory behind it is great.
